Annalina’s research explores how people interpret and emotionally respond to social experiences, and how these processes shape beliefs about the self and others. Using computational modeling, she currently studies how causal attributions, emotional states, self-esteem and depressive symptoms influence the development of self-beliefs over time. Her earlier research focused on oxytocin in autism and on social emotions such as (vicarious) embarrassment and shame.
Since completing her PhD in 2021, she has been working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Social Neuroscience Lab alongside clinical training. In 2022, she received funding from the University of Lübeck as a clinician scientist, enabling her to combine research with clinical practice.
